Bullseye Bash

I took part in another GameJam last weekend. It was shorter than the previous jam (weekend intead of a week). As such it was pretty "cruchy". I'll be 40 soon and staying up till 3am (3 times) is starting to kill me. But it was fun, I was feeling a rush the whole time.

On the first day I didn't make it to the PC (I've got a baby boy) and was constructing the game in my head, and doing doodles/mockups on paper, which I guess is a good idea before starting to code. I chose a simple gameplay mechanic, sth I could finish in my limited time (as a family man). In the end I finished just in time with everything that I wanted in the game.

Graphics were in the focus this time, as I've always been wanting to use my drawing skills for a game instead of pixelart. I was thinking of using HEAVYPAINT with the oil-brush which would have looked like this:

The theme was "bullseye" and my idea was you play a matador (bull fighter) and the bull has his crazy eye at the center of the screen when he comes charging at you. You hold [space] and let go in the last millisecond to get good scores.

I think I'll be porting it to android next month, it being a short one-button game and all.
